St John Leonard School, Uganda

These are some of the wonderful children at St John Leonard School, Uganda.  Many of them live in extreme poverty, some are orphaned; but by going to school they have the chance to fulfil their hopes and dreams.

The children are eager to learn but their classrooms are basic and learning resources expensive. This is why we are working with St Paul's Primary School in Brighton to provide a Contain-A-School bursting with essential donated equipment and resources to help them flourish in school.

"Thank you so much for your efforts to help our school. We are extremely happy for your kindness which will make such a difference to what we can do for the children here."

St Paul's Primary School in Brighton has developed a long standing partnership with St John Leonard School in Uganda, set up a number of years ago under the British Council's Connecting Classrooms programme.  This active and lively school partnership is supporting valuable improvements in teaching, learning and education for both schools and has had fantastic benefits across the globe.

So delighted to see this Contain-A-School shipment project coming to fruition.  St Paul's Primary School community worked so hard to pack the container full of wonderful donated school equipment and resources (plus a few lovely goodies for the children!).

It arrived safely and is already making a real difference to school life.  Children have access to more learning resources, teachers have equipment to help improve the classroom environment, as well as sports equipment, school uniform and team sports kit.
