Our CEO and Trustees were delighted to join others at the exciting launch of ‘The Training Kitchen’. This brand-new facility at Plumpton College near Lewes has been developed in partnership with Adopt a School Trust and Table Talk Foundation.
The launch saw the fruition of much hard work by Table Talk Foundation and Adopt a School Trust over the last year to fundraise for the fit out of this state-of-the-art training kitchen facility at the College’s Agri-Food Hub.
The afternoon started with drinks and canapes, followed by an opportunity for a show round the new facility that sits in the beautiful surrounds of the college’s working farm, and concluded with the main event, the opening of kitchen itself.
This beautifully planned and constructed classroom will enable Table Talk Foundation in conjunction with Adopt a School to provide real life food preparation, cooking and industry learning opportunities for hundreds of school children and students from across the Southeast. At a time when the food, catering & hospitality industry desperately need to encourage young people into the profession.
We have recently partnered with Table Talk and Adopt a School to help fund hands-on practical in-school workshops for local primary schools and very much look forward to developing this new relationship further.
