What We Do
We work in partnership with other charities, Non-Government Organisations (NGO's), schools and colleges, to enable young people to have the education they deserve; an education that helps them to achieve their hopes and dreams in life.
By working in partnership we combine our efforts and expertise to ensure a greater impact.
In the UK our programme has helped young people to build new skills, given new learning opportunities to those in need, and is focused on enhancing education opportunities for all. We have supported schools to develop tablet technology in the classroom; given young people and teachers the digital skills they need to enhance teaching and learning; as well as supporting disadvantaged young people to have once in a lifetime experiences in our international partner schools.
This partnership approach to working similarly extends to our projects overseas. We work with established partners who are right at the heart of the communities they support; through our involvement we can give them the scope to realise their projects, whilst ensuring the communities involved have sustainable assistance to oversee the projects success.
As part of our Contain-A-School projects we shipped unwanted education resources from schools in the UK, to Uganda, Kenya, Tanzania and Sri Lanka where they are desperately needed; we have helped fund school build and infrastructure projects, such as classrooms, halls and latrines, so children have a safe and healthy place to learn; and have supported the delivery of education programmes for refugees in the camps of Northern France.
We love to work on projects where our help adds value to the fantastic things that our partners are already doing. We actively seek organisations who have a strong track record of delivery, and who are committed to empowering, through education, the people and communities they work with.
"Education is the most powerful weapon which you can use to change the world"
Creating Innovative Learning Experiences
We supported the development of a cutting-edge programme of tablet technology in the classroom at City Academy Whitehawk. Where, as part of the project every child in the school was supplied with an iPad for learning.
Enabling Education for all through Build Projects
We recently visited Excel Primary School. A slum school in one of the poorest areas of Kampala; local charity AFFCAD are working on a project to rebuild the school so that it is a safe and healthy place for the children to learn.
Offering a Helping Hand to Learn New Skills
We supported hands-on classical music workshops for Primary Schools in Brighton & Hove, opening up a whole new musical world for these children.
Helping Those Who Need it Most
We worked with a Youth Centre and Children's Centre in the camps of Calais and Dunkirk to give young refugees access to education opportunities and nursery facilities.
Supporting Inspirational Life Experience
For the fourth year running we are sending a group of disadvantaged young people overseas to spend time with our partner schools.
