Helping Refugees to Blossom at The Orange Tree House

'A safe space for refugees to rest, learn, feel empowered and grow'

This is the mission of Greek NGO (non-governmental organisation) Za'atar.  Through their amazing project 'The Orange Tree House', based in the heart of central Athens, they deliver education & employment training programmes to help migrants and refugees build self-sufficient lives and prepare for their futures.

We are delighted to be supporting this work with an education resources grant enabling Za'atar to continue their current programme of 14 classes per day, that offer training and education to more than 1,500 people a week who come to Orange Tree.

The organisation, co-founded by Greek citizens, works in partnership with other NGO's, informal settlements and local Greek Government organisations to deliver their wide range of services; and with an international and local team of staff specialising in refugee-related support, based at the three-story building in Exarcheia district of the city, Orange Tree House is the heart of the what they do.
