Community Leadership in Education Programme

We are delighted to have supported the launch of EduSpots new training and mentoring project for young education leaders in Ghana.

EduSpots is a small charity delivering sustainable, community-led, education provision across rural Ghana through their network of 50 community owned library-education centres called 'Spots'.   These 'Spots' provide free access to high-quality education resources and learning spaces for more than 15,000 children and young people every year, including access to books, lessons, homework support, literacy & STEM clubs, as well as helping to raise educational aspirations and attainment; and are totally run by local community volunteers.

The Community Leadership in Education Programme, or CLEd as it is known, is a 12-month programme that provides community volunteers with the skills and experience they need to manage their Spots.  Leading high-quality educational delivery, whilst also developing as young leaders themselves.

The programme launched in 2021 with a 5-day training Academy followed by a 10-month programme of mentoring and support delivered through a mix of face-to-face training, online workshops, 1:1 mentoring from an assigned Leadership Coach, peer-peer support, & community delivered action plans.

Following the success for the pilot project we are pleased to be supporting the second year roll out of the programme.
