Moving On Children's Art Festival

Patina is an community arts based organisation created jointly by local teachers, parents and artists in Lewes, in response to the recent reduction in the focus of the arts in the national curriculum.  This dynamic organisation aims to ensure local children still have much needed opportunities to experience quality arts teaching and learning.

Their flagship summer festival, Moving On, celebrating children's transition from Primary to Secondary school, and is a staple of the Lewes events calendar.    This year the Festival celebrates it's 18th year and promises to be bigger than ever.

We are delighted to be supporting Patina with a Community Grant towards the costs of putting on a new and exciting festival activity. The full-day event, based on a 'geocache' treasure hunt around the town, will bring together local children and their families, with a group of talented illustrators who live in and around Lewes.

Children will have the opportunity to learn about the art of illustration and take part in drawing and storytelling workshops with the artists as they find their way around the treasure trail.
